Students at McKenzie Special School District will receive an extra one-half day off if the McKenzie High School Boys Basketball Team wins on Thursday at the Class 1A state basketball tournament in Murfreesboro.
The games are slated for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in the single-elimination state tournament. Thursday is the quarter-final, Friday is the semi-final, and Saturday is the championship game.
Students were already scheduled to be out of school Thursday, March 14 for Data Day and Parent -Teacher Conference. That conference will be rescheduled to a later date.
If the MHS boys win Thursday and advance to the Friday semi-final game, the school will dismiss 11:30 a.m. Friday. If the MHS boys lose Thursday, then Friday will be a regular school day.
