New Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church to Celebrate 169th Birthday

On October 7, New Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church will celebrate its 169th anniversary with morning worship, potluck lunch and an afternoon of fellowship.
New Salem was founded in 1849.
Returning to the pulpit for the worship hour will be the Rev. Kip Rush. Rev. Rush served New Salem in the mid-1980s while a ministerial student at Bethel University, McKenzie. He currently serves as pastor of the Brenthaven Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Brentwood, Tennessee.

New Salem is located on Highway 89, midway between Sharon and Dresden.
At night, this historical church glows with candles in the windows, sending the message, “Jesus is the light of the world.”
Sunday School begins at 10 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m.
