Wooden Train Added to McKenzie Station Playground

Posted

McKENZIE (July 8) — A 45-foot wooden train is the newest addition to the McKenzie Station playground in downtown McKenzie. On Monday, the new 45-foot wooden train was placed adjacent to the city’s splash pad and the McKenzie Industrial Board, located in the former train depot.
Monica Heath, coordinator with the city’s Main Street Community Development, said the new playground equipment was paid completely with a state tourism grant, which also funded the remodeling of the interior of one-half of the former depot.
The train cost $4,548 and has six cars in which children can crawl, climb, or sit on. It has a bell, telescope, binoculars and a tic-tac-toe board.
Use of the splash pad and train are free for children to enjoy.
