Children’s Christmas Bike Run July 29 It’s Christmas in July with the McKenzie VFW Post 4939 Children’s Christmas Bike Run on July 29. The run starts at VFW McKenzie, 9750 Cherrywood Rd., McKenzie and makes stops at Huntingdon Elks Lodge, Camden Elks Lodge, T-Bone’s, JW Brewskies, and back to VFW McKenzie. Registration is at 9 a.m. and costs $20 per person. Kickstands go up at noon. There will be prizes, raffles, and 50/50 raffles. All proceeds go to the Community Children’s Christmas. The McKenzie High School Alumni Association (MHSAA) meets July 18 at the McKenzie High School Theatre to elect officers and board members. Five board members and a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer will be elected. more

Johnson Ice Bucket Challenge July 6 Join Dusty Johnson as she dunks her dad, Trent Johnson, at McKenzie VFW, 9750 Cherrywood Rd., at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 6. Dusty donated an initial $500 to St. Jude, and the VFW will have a station set up from 5-5:30 p.m. for additional donations from friends and community members. more

McKenzie Chamber, Industry Banquet June 20 The McKenzie Chamber of Commerce and Industry Banquet is Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at 6 p.m. at the Venue at Waddell Place at 894 Joy Sparks Road in McKenzie, Tenn. Tickets are on sale now. Tickets are $40 for Chamber members, $60 for Non-Members and $250 for a table of 8 seats. During the event, awards will be presented to members for the Business Person of the Year, Business of the Year and Non-Profit of the Year. Members are encouraged to attend. The keynote speaker will be Kyle Spurgeon, President and CEO of the Jackson, Tenn. Chamber.
