McKENZIE (April 9) — Despite an early morning chill in the air, thousands of individuals, mostly children, gathered at McKenzie City Park to partake in the McKenzie Chamber of Commerce’s Easter Egg Drop. McKENZIE (April 1) — Trudi’s Place has reopened in downtown McKenzie in a new location. Trudi Bannister held her grand opening on Friday, April 1 inside McKenzie City Florist, 2281 Cedar Avenue. The date marked the fourth anniversary of the florist, owned by Michele Jarrett. She and her late husband, David, opened April 1, 2018, their dream business that includes a coffee shop, florist, ice cream, and gifts. more
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Saturday, March 26 at the World’s Biggest Fish Fry Headquarters on Fairgrounds Road, Paris. The event kicks off the annual week-long celebration. more
HUNTINGDON (March 24) — Danny Brawner, general manager of Carroll County Electric, is retiring on June 2. Brawner announced his plans to the Board of Directors on March 24. more

McKENZIE (March 21) — Cachengo, a manufacturer and software provider for high-tech gear, purchased the former McKenzie hospital on Monday, March 21 from the McKenzie Industrial Board (IDB). Monica Heath, IDB Executive Director, Gary Simmons, IDB Chairman, and Keith Priestley, Secretary of the IDB signed the necessary documents to transfer the ownership to Cachengo. Kent Jones served as the attorney for both buyer and seller. more

Richard Adkisson, the son of Louella Adkisson and Roger Bigham, was born and raised in Trezevant, Tennessee.
