The Carroll County Health Department is extending COVID-19 vaccine hours beginning Monday, March 22, 2021. The local Health Department administered vaccines are offered by appointment only. Extended hours are on Tuesday 4:30 p.m. to 7  p.m. and Thursday mornings, 7 to 8 a.m. at the Carroll County Health Department located at 633 High Street, Huntingdon. NASHVILLE (February 21) — Tennessee began registering Tennesseans aged 65 and older and those in Phase 1b of the state’s COVID-19 Vaccination Plan COVID-19 for vaccinations on February 22. Phase 1b includes staff members of kindergarten through 12th grade schools and child care facilities. more
HUNTINGDON (February 11) — Phipps Pharmacy, Huntingdon began giving COVID-19 vaccines on Thursday, February 11 by appointment. Appointments can be scheduled at www.phippspharmacy.com. NASHVILLE — Tennessee Commissioner of Health Lisa Piercey addressed reporters with the Tennessee Press Association over a Webex virtual conference on Wednesday, February 10. Piercey was opportunistic on many fronts concerning the distribution and inoculations of the COVID-19 throughout Tennessee. On Sunday, Tennessee reported 708,717 total COVID-19 cases, 8,859 deaths, 2,128 hospitalized and 654,335 inactive/recovered. Statewide, the percent positivity rate appears to be decreasing. On January 3, the state’s COVID-19 positivity rate was 21.41 percent; January 10, it was 16.31 percent; January 17, it was 13.10 percent; and January 24 it was 9.78 percent. more
