Dr. Hall is now seeing patients at Baptist Medical Group Carroll County General Surgery Clinic located at 641 R.B. Wilson Drive, Suite M in Huntingdon and is now taking referrals. more
The McKenzie Rotary Club donated $2,000 to the Aird’s new foundation called Solid Ground. This foundation is in honor of the late Tom and Mary-Lou Aird who died in a car crash six years ago. more

The McKenzie High School Alumni Association (MHSAA) presented senior Ava Mae Warman, MHS Class of 2024, with a scholarship in the amount of $1000. This is the first year for the scholarship to be awarded. more
Two Mountain Brook, Alabama teens are recovering after a brutal shark attack at Rosemary Beach in Walton County, Florida. The Birmingham area and communities beyond have been offering their support for the girls. more
McKENZIE (June 15) — An albino male kangaroo, born at Southland Safari in Clarksburg, has a new name, “Rebel.” Southland Safari is owned by Chris and Tosha Gurley. The seven-month-old kangaroo was born as an albino, a rare occasion. It’s parents are both gray kangaroos. more
GLEASON — Sherri Brawner, third grade teacher at Gleason Schools, is one of nine teachers in Tennessee vying for the distinction of Teacher of the Year. There are three finalist from each grand division of the state — West, Middle and East. Each now advances to the interview portion of competition in mid-June. more
McKENZIE (June 14) —Daniel Capua is the new band director for the McKenzie Middle School and McKenzie High School band programs. Capua is a 2024 graduate of UT-Martin, where he was in the marching band and served as field commander. He is a graduate of Westview High School. more
Faye Jones proved to be a dedicated Rebels baseball fan. Jones, age 92, great-grandmother of Fletcher Holt, attended the TSSAA State Championship Series. more

KNOXVILLE (June 9) — With the win over Evansville on Sunday night in the super regional round, the UT Knoxville Vols baseball team notched a spot in the College World Series. The three-game series advanced the Vols to their first back-to-back appearance in Omaha. more

PARIS (May 29) — After completing two summer internships as a land survey intern, L.I. Smith & Associates (LIS) is proud to announce that Nikolas Heath has returned as a full-time survey technician. Heath’s journey with LIS began in the summer of 2022 when he was a sophomore at the University of Tennessee at Martin (UTM). more
