ATWOOD (October 6) — West Carroll Special School District Board of Education approved the Fiscal Year 22-23 budget, that began on July 1, 2022. Preston Caldwell, director of schools, said he waited until the three new board members took office before addressing the budget. more
McKenzie (October 4) — McKenzie Board of Education convened Tuesday, October 4 to select a textbook committee, a disciplinary committee, hear an update on the ESSER federal funds, and a proposal by Mayor Jill Holland to establish an alumni association. more
McKENZIE (October 4) — On Tuesday evening, the City of McKenzie held a special called meeting where Ryan White’s interim tag was removed making him the chief of police. White, a 21-year veteran of the McKenzie Police Department, has served as the interim chief of police since September 17 following the sudden retirement of Craig Moates. more

McKENZIE — McKenzie Senior Citizens Center has ramped up its activities for persons, aged 55 and up. The center, located at 172 Main Street, South, began the month of October with a dance with music by Larry Morgan, and will end the month with a Halloween potluck lunch on October 27. more
The McKenzie Garden Club met on Friday, September 23, 2022, at the home of Debby and Dan Simon with fifteen members attending. In the absence of president, Myra Sasser, and vice president, Donna Herrin, the meeting was called to order by the club secretary, Victoria Ard. more
