Burglary, Theft — On May 20, 2024, an individual came to McKenzie City Hall regarding several thefts from his residence on Magnolia Avenue. The victim stated that his shed behind his residence had been burglarized several times over the last few months but he was unsure of how many times. more

Schedule VI Drug Violations — Shannon Office, 35, of Jackson, was arrested on April 27 for unlawful drug paraphernalia use and lights required on motor vehicles. Officer Roberts observed Shannon’s car driving on Main Street when he noticed the driver’s side headlight was out and initiated the traffic stop. Officer Roberts could smell marijuana when he contacted the driver. Roberts asked the driver and passengers to step out of the vehicle and he found several unidentified pills, small amounts of marijuana, and a scale inside of a purse in the backseat. Then inside of the trunk of the vehicle was 66 grams of marijuana. The driver said it was not hers but took responsibility for everything in the car. more
Fugitive From Justice — Joshua French, 39, Holladay, Tenn. was arrested and charged seven charges including Driving on a Revoked, Light Law Violation, Violation of Financial Responsibility, Driving an Unregistered Vehicle, Simple Possession -Schedule VI, Failure to Appear in a Missouri Court, Violation of Probation out of Missouri. more

Theft of Property — Bobby Spain, of Trezevant, stated that someone came on his property without his permission, and removed his 1970 18 horsepower Evinrude outboard motor from his 12-foot Jon boat. Bobby stated that he had painted the motor cover from blue to tan and the lower part olive color with black prop. Bobby stated that he last saw the motor on May 8. more

Criminal Trespass — Gavin Clay Rosson, 25, homeless, was charged with Trespassing at the Country Store on Hwy 70. Deputy Bongiovanni arrived at the country store and spoke to the manager of the store who stated that Rosson had entered the store shirtless, wearing black shorts, and sandals. The deputy then observed video surveillance showing Rosson in the store in the same clothing described by the store manager. Rosson had left the store before Deputy Bongiovanni arrived. The deputy waited for approximately 30 minutes across the street when Rosson showed back up at the store and got arrested for criminal trespass. more

Theft of Merchandise — Karen Munkeboe, 72, of Huntingdon, was cited into General Sessions Court for Theft of Merchandise under $1,000 on May 6. Joe Lowe, head of security at Walmart, stated that Munkeboe had taken several plants from the garden center without paying for them. Restitution is due to Walmart in the amount of $66.62. more
