Budget Committee Allocates $2.7 Million In COVID Relief Funds, Retires Debt

HUNTINGDON (March 3) — The county of Carroll has received one-half of the $5.4 million in Federal COVID relief funds known as the American Rescue Plan (ARP). Members of the county Budget Committee met Thursday, March 3, to distribute the $2.7 million that in the county’s possession to benefit the county government, municipal water systems, county fire department, and help two local high-speed Internet providers to apply for federal grants to expand fiber internet to underserved geographic areas. The county is expected to receive another $2.7 million in the fall of 2022.
