CEDAR GROVE — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the death of a Cedar Grove woman.

According to Sheriff Andy Dickson, Carroll County Dispatch Center received a call from George Hill in Bartlett, Tennessee indicating Elizabeth Randow, 45, of 3250 Highway 70, Cedar Grove was unresponsive and needed an ambulance.

Sheriff Dickson said the call came in around 8 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday and deputies responded to the residence.

Hill and Randow have a six-year-old son, who was the lone person in the home with his mom. Hill had unsuccessfully attempted to phone Randow and finally spoke with his son on the phone. The boy indicated Randow was unresponsive. The dad advised the boy to go next door and tell the neighbors.

Dickson said Hill and Randow had a prior domestic incident in December 2021, so authorities interviewed him and impounded his car. He is not charged in the case. The young boy was interviewed by the Department of Children’s Services and placed in the custody of an aunt.

A preliminary report indicates there was no blunt force trauma, stab wounds, nor bullet wounds. Results of a toxicology report are not complete.
