Bass Nation Tournament Provides Economic Impact to Carroll County

Posted

The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce reported the Tennessee Bass Nation State Junior Championship Tournament on May 7 and 8, generated $48,400 in economic impact for Carroll County.

There were more than 100 hotel nights generated by the tournament. Twenty-eight of those occurred in Carroll County.

“We could not have done it without the many volunteers that helped with the tournament,” said Brad Hurley, president, Carroll County Chamber. “We fed 300 fisherman and family members in 45 minutes on Friday night.

It was estimated that more than 400 people visited Carroll County during the tournament.”

Huntingdon’s Public Safety Director Walter Smothers did an excellent job with his bologna sandwich and tasty hot dogs.

Randy Crossett and the Huntingdon Public Works crew did a great job in getting everything ready. The Huntingdon Fire Department, Carroll County Fire Department, Huntingdon Police Department, Carroll County Rescue Squad, and Carroll County Watershed Authority all provided assistance.

“It does take a lot of people to make a tournament a success, and on May 8, all the efforts provided a great time for the young anglers,” said Hurley. “Thank you to everyone involved from food to boat parking, golf cart shuttles, to our citizens for welcoming them into their business”.
