Humane Society Hosts Halloween Bingo, Cake Walk
The Carroll County Humane Society will host a Halloween Bingo and Cake Walk on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at the Farm Bureau Insurance building, 125 Third Avenue, Huntingdon. Fun for the entire family begins at 1 p.m. Donations of cakes for the cake walk are appreciated. For more information, contact the shelter at their new phone number 731-358-1019.
 
Cakewalk at Macedonia Community Center
Macedonia Community Center is hosting a cakewalk on Saturday, October 22. Hamburgers and hot dogs are served beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The cakewalk begins at 7 p.m. Gray Line Band will provide live music. Come join us for a family night out.
 
Bethel Art Department Homecoming Exhibition
During the month of October, the Bethel University Art Department is presenting the Homecoming 2022 Interdisciplinary Faculty & Staff Art Exhibition in the Kathy Sacks Art Gallery. The gallery is located in the lobby of Dickey Fine Arts Building, 71 Bethel Court, McKenzie. This exhibition features art created by Bethel faculty and staff from across the campus.  The result is a diverse exhibition showcasing the talents of those who may not work in the arts, but enjoy the creative process nonetheless. There will be a reception on Thursday, October 22, beginning at 5:30 p.m. 
 
Bethel Homecoming Weekend October 21-23
The Jerry Wilcoxson Memorial Golf Tournament will tee off on Friday, October 21, 2022, 11 a.m., at the Carroll Lake Golf Club, 1305 Carroll Lake Road, McKenzie. 
On Saturday, October 22, the Athletic Hall of Fame and Alumni Awards Breakfast begins at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Wall of Faith Recognition ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Wildcat Alley, a collection of food trucks, craft vendors, alumni tent, live music and carnival rides, begins at 10:30 a.m. The Alumni and Friends Tailgate Tent Opens at 11:30 a.m. and Bethel Football against Thomas More kicks off at 1 p.m.
On Sunday, October 23, Worship with the Renaissance Choir begins at 11 a.m. at the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 16835 Highland Drive, McKenzie. For information on these and other Homecoming events, contact Bethel University at 731-352-4000.

Carroll County Emergency Communications District Board of Directors meets Tuesday, October 18, 5:30 p.m. in the training room at the Emergency Operations Center, 210 Norandal Drive, Huntingdon. 
 
Monster dash 5K, 1 Mile Fun Run
The McKenzie Rotary Club is hosting a Monster Dash 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, October 29, at the McKenzie City Park, 570 Como Street, McKenzie. The 5K run begins at 8:30 a.m. and the 1 Mile Fun Run at 9 a.m. The entry fee is five canned goods or a monetary donation.
 
McKenzie Elementary School Fall Festival
The McKenzie Elementary School Fall Festival is Saturday, October 29, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at 165 Brooks Avenue in McKenzie. A king and queen from each class in grades Pre-K through fourth will be crowned. There will be a costume contest, games and other fun activities.
 
Bethel University Hosts Marching Band Invitational October 29
Bethel University’s Renaissance Regiment is hosting a marching band invitational on Saturday, October 29, 2022, on campus at the Wildcat Stadium. Featuring over 20 high school marching bands from across Tennessee and Kentucky, the event begins at 10 a.m. Tickets are $10 and will be for sale at the front gate with concessions available for purchase throughout the day. Boo Bash 2022 Hosted by Bethel University, City of mcKenzie October 27
The Boo Bash returns to downtown McKenzie after a two-year absence due to COVID-19 precautions. Sponsored by the City of McKenzie and Bethel University, this family event is Thursday, October 27, 5:30-8:30 p.m. on the Square and features good food, trunk or treating, riding the haunted train, a costume contest and lots of other fun events.
 
Carroll County Republican Party Pasta & Politics Dinner
The Carroll County Republican Party is hosting the annual Pasta and Politics Dinner on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 6 p.m. in the Carroll County Civic Center, 201 Mustang Drive, Huntington. Special guests include Senator Marsha Blackburn, Representative David Kustoff, Loren Spivack, author of “Freedom Fighter”, and Carroll County Mayor, Joseph Butler. Also attending will be County Commissioner and GOP Chair Cyril Ostiguy, Tennessee GOP Chairman Scott Golden and Representative candidate for district 79, Brock Martin.
 
Carroll County Commission Meets Monthly
Carroll County Commission meets the second Monday of each month, 7 p.m., in the Conference Room of the Carroll County Office Complex, High Street, Huntingdon. There are no meetings in December, February, and July.
 
McKenzie Farmers Market
McKenzie Farmers Market is open Saturdays at 8 a.m., 2431 Cedar Street, in downtown McKenzie. The former Studebaker dealership was converted to an indoor/outdoor farmers market and allows area citizens to sell their homemade and homegrown foods and other products. It is open every Saturday morning through October. Also visit on Tuesday afternoons, 2-6 p.m. Watch for special children’s activities sponsored by the Carroll County 4-H and Agriculture Extension Service. 
Admission is free. The facility is sponsored by the City of McKenzie. For vendor information, phone City Hall at 731-352-2292. 
 
Shepherd’s Table Community Kitchen
On the third Tuesdays of each month, The Shepherd’s Table community kitchen serves meals at First Presbyterian Church located at 19835 E. Main Street, Huntingdon. Meals are served restaurant style with drive-through available after 6 p.m. It is open to the public and there is no cost. Donations are accepted. All are invited.
It is our mission to create a community atmosphere where individuals can come in and have a meal and a comfortable setting. We encourage friendly conversation, prayers and laughter. Adult Education Classes
Huntingdon Location - Adult Education Building, 14155 Paris Street. Office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Classes are offered for one-on-one instruction on Mondays, 1-4 p.m. and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to noon. For more information, phone 731-364-5481.
 
Council Meets Monthly
The McKenzie City Council meets at 6 p.m. the second Thursday of each month. 
 
Prayer on the Square
The Prayer on the Square is held the second Saturday each month, 9 a.m. at The Network on the Court Square in Huntingdon. All denominations are welcome.
