The Shepherd’s Table Community Kitchen
The Shepherd’s Table, the community kitchen located in Huntingdon, Tenn. serves meals twice monthly. On each third Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church located at 19835 E. Main Street and on each fourth Tuesday at First United Methodist Church located at 201 Asbury Circle. Meals are served drive through 5 to 7 p.m. The Shepherds Table is open to the public and there is no cost.
The meals are prepared by volunteer staff hosted by different congregations in our town and donated by local businesses. Our town’s community kitchen was created by a group of volunteers that saw the need in the Carroll County community. Food scarcity is real and the Shepherd’s Table’s success is dependent on the support of volunteers and donations. They are scheduling the 2022 calendar. Carroll County Humane Society Bingo, Soup Supper
Friday, February 4th, 6-9 p.m. at the Carroll County Civic Center in Huntingdon. Calling all soup/stew/chili/chowder chefs! We need you!
We’re holding an all-you-can-eat soup supper and we need your best homemade soups. Attendees will get to sample as much or as little as they want for the low, low price of $10 and vote on their favorite. At the end of the night, the winner will receive the 2022 Soup Scepter and bragging rights!
We’re also having bingo (50 cents per card with packages available) and additional concessions for $1 each (canned drinks, popcorn, candy, desserts). The final game will be for a grand prize of a $100 Walmart card with some changes. Our final game has gotten to be so long due to the number of cards played, that it’s not so fun for everyone. So bring your bingo buddies, because we will be limiting the last game to 10 cards per person to keep the game moving along and be a little more fair to everyone.
We are absolutely accepting donations for supplies for this event. Below is a list and these can be brought by the shelter between 8-1 Tues-Fri or 10-2 on Saturday.
Needed items:
- Pots of soup!! Crackers, cornbread, breads, rolls
- Bowls, spoons, napkins, dessert plates, forks
- Canned drinks and bottled water
- Shredded cheese
- Desserts (these will be served in individual portions but can be donated whole)
- New Bingo prizes (All those little gifts you received but can’t use. Re-gift to CCHS)
-A sponsor for the $100 Walmart gift card.
