Webb Alumni Association Fundraiser February 25
The Webb Alumni Association is hosting a fundraiser on Saturday, February 25, at Webb School, 938 Walnut Avenue West, McKenzie. Chicken plates are $10 and include chicken half, baked beans, potato salad and roll. Proceeds to benefit General Assembly transportation to Chicago in April. Come by and meet Jessie Townes, Vice-Mayor of McKenzie, and Fridie Algee, Mayor of Atwood and the first Black mayor in Carroll County. Voting registration will be on site.

The Carroll County Election Commission quarterly meeting is Tuesday, February 28, 6 p.m., in the Election Office of the Carroll County Office Complex, 625 High Street, Suite 113, Huntingdon.

Chicken, Dressing Benefit Luncheon
Chicken and Dressing Benefit Luncheon is Sunday, March 5, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Huntingdon Middle School cafeteria, 199 Browning Avenue, Huntingdon. All proceeds from this luncheon will go to Lindsey Barnett and Megan Inman. Tickets are $10 and include chicken and dressing, green beans, corn, cranberry sauce and bread. Carry out meals are available and desserts will be available for purchase. Tickets can be purchased at Huntingdon Primary School, Huntingdon Middle School, Huntingdon High School, Huntingdon Board of Education and Small Town Blessings, 12834 Paris Street, Huntingdon. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Bow Wow at the Barn with 24 Seven March 4
Bow Wow at the Barn featuring the band 24 Seven is Saturday, March 4, at The Venue at Waddell Place, 894 Joy Sparks Road, McKenzie, 6-10 p.m. This is an annual event with proceeds going to the Carroll County Humane Society a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. Tickets are $25 each and on sale now at the Carroll County Humane Society or by calling 731-358-1019. Tickets will be available at the door provided it does not sell out. Raffles, door prizes, silent auction, cash bar (ID required) and complimentary bar snacks available. Poot’s BBQ food truck will be there.

The McKenzie School Board workshop is Wednesday, March 1, at 5 p.m. in the McKenzie Board of Education building, 114 W Bell Ave, McKenzie.

Huntingdon High School 5K March 5
The Huntingdon High School Track, Field and Cross Country teams are hosting a 5K run on Sunday, March 5. The race begins at 2 p.m. at the Huntingdon Middle School. Entry fee is $25 and a long sleeve tee shirt is guaranteed if registered by February 17.

The Battle of Paris Commemoration
The Battle of Paris Commemoration is Saturday, March 11, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Henry County Courthouse Square. This event is a Living History of the Civil War and the 19th century time period. Educational stations will be continuous throughout the day and include re-enactors in period dress from across West Tennessee and Kentucky; reproduction cannons manned by cannon teams in period dress; color guard featuring flags of the Civil War; educational experts talking about all aspects of 19th century life; speeches by some of the greatest leaders of the time period; relic displays featuring various Civil War weaponry and accouterments; official food vendor is Perry’s BBQ. Don’t miss this Living History lesson when Civil War re-enactors will tell of their experiences at the Battle of Paris and throughout the Civil War. Smalltown Cruisers Antique Car Club Meets Monthly

The Carroll County Republican Party meets the fourth Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. in the court room of the Public Safety building, 12740 Lexington Street, Huntingdon. The reorganization election of executive committee members will take place on February 28.

Shepherd’s Table Community Kitchen
On the third Tuesday of each month, The Shepherd’s Table community kitchen serves meals at First Presbyterian Church located at 19835 E. Main Street, Huntingdon. Meals are served restaurant style with drive-through available after 6 p.m. It is open to the public and there is no cost. Donations are accepted. All are invited.
It is our mission to create a community atmosphere where individuals can come in and have a meal and a comfortable setting. We encourage friendly conversation, prayers and laughter. Carroll County Commission meets the second Monday of each month, 7 p.m., in the Conference Room of the Carroll County Office Complex, High Street, Huntingdon. There are no meetings in December, February, and July.
