McKenzie Beauty Reviews are April 10
McKenzie High School Marching Rebels and McKenzie High School announce the date of the Little Mr. and Miss, Jr. Miss, and Miss McKenzie beauty reviews for 2021. Last year’s events were canceled because of the pandemic. 
The 2021 beauty reviews are on Saturday, April 10, beginning at 1 p.m. with the Little Mr. and Miss McKenzie reviews. All three events are on the same day and the number of persons attending will be limited. Starting times for the Junior Miss and the Miss McKenzie will be announced once the number of contestants is determined during registration. 
Each contestant will list up to four guests who will purchase tickets and attend the event. The event is managed by 360 Designs, Christian Nunnery. Ticket holders will pay as they enter the door on the day of the event.
Tickets are for one review only. Anyone attending other reviews that day must purchase a separate ticket. Each pageant ticket will be printed accordingly and distributed at the parent meeting on April 8 at 6 p.m. There will not be any all-day passes available. 
Dressing rooms are limited to one contestant at a time with proper disinfecting between contestants entering the dressing area. There are five dressing rooms provided for contestants to change. Each contestant has 20-25 minutes in a personal dressing room. After the 25 minutes expire, contestants must vacate the dressing room. Any other preparations, including hair, makeup, etc. will be done in the main band room.
 
McKenzie City Council Meets Monthly
The McKenzie City Council meets at 6 p.m. the second Thursday of each month. 
 
McKenzie City-Wide Yard Sale
The McKenzie City-Wide Yard Sale is scheduled for May 7 and 8.
 
West Carroll School Board to Meet
The West Carroll Special School District Board of Education meets Tuesday, April 6 at 6 p.m. The agenda includes a discussion of athletic practice during the school day and the second reading of board policy updates on school district goals and personnel goals.
 
McKenzie Farmers Market Opens June 5
The McKenzie Farmers Market opens June 5 from  8 a.m. until noon. Stay tuned for more details.
 
Huntingdon Beauty Reviews are April 24
Huntingdon Bands are hosting the Huntingdon Hometown Beauty Pageants on April 24 in the Huntingdon High School Gym.
Pageants range from age 2 to 19 in the one-day event. Admission is $5. Children 4 and under are free. One adult per paid contestant is free.
The first pageant is at noon for the 2-3 year olds, 12:30 for 4-5, 1 p.m. for the 6-9 ages, 1:30 for the 10-12 ages, 2 p.m. for the 13-15 ages, and 2:30 for the 16-19 age. All start times are approximate.
Trophies will be awarded for king/queen and the first top three alternates plus special categories.
There was no 2020 contest because of the pandemic.
 
Johnson Temple C.M.E. Prayer Vigil
There is a Community Prayer Vigil every Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Johnson Temple C.M.E, 915 Walnut Avenue, McKenzie. 
We come together to pray for one another, our community and country, then study the Word of God. Johnson Temple C.M.E. Church convenes each Sunday with Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. and morning worship at 11 a.m.
 
Joy Club Meets Twice Monthly
The Joy Club meets at McKenzie First United Methodist Church on the first and third Thursdays of each month from noon-2 p.m. Bring a sack lunch and enjoy fellowship, games, guest speakers and movies. All are welcome.
 
McKenzie Historic Zoning Meets Monthly
The McKenzie Historic Zoning Committee meets the second Wednesday of each month, 4 p.m. in the city hall council chambers.
 
McKenzie Condemnation Meetings Monthly
City of McKenzie Condemnation Meetings are the fourth Monday of each month at 3 p.m. in the city hall council chambers.
