County Budget Committee to Meet
The County Budget Committee meets the fourth Thursday. The meeting is 10 a.m. in the conference room of the County Complex.
 
McKenzie Farmers Market
McKenzie Farmers Market is open Saturdays at 8 a.m., 2431 Cedar Street, in downtown McKenzie. The former Studebaker dealership was converted to an indoor/outdoor farmers market and allows area citizens to sell their homemade and homegrown foods and other products. 
It is open every Saturday morning through October. Also visit on Tuesday afternoons, 2-6 p.m. Watch for special children’s activities sponsored by the Carroll County 4-H and Agriculture Extension Service. 
Admission is free. The facility is sponsored by the City of McKenzie. For vendor information, phone City Hall at 731-352-2292.
 
Carroll County Commission Meets Monthly
Carroll County Commission meets the second Monday of each month, 7 p.m., in the Conference Room of the Carroll County Office Complex, High Street, Huntingdon. There are no meetings in December, February, and July.
 
Low Cost Vouchers For Cats
The Carroll County Humane Society was recently awarded a spay/neuter grant for cats through BISSELL Pet Foundation. The low-cost vouchers are offered for purchase on Saturday, August 6th, 10-noon (or until sold out) at the shelter location in McKenzie. The cost is $20 each and must be purchased in person with cash or card. No checks please. There will be a small processing fee if using a card. 
No residency or income requirements. The participating clinic will be Paris Vet Clinic. This is an awesome opportunity for getting cats spayed/neutered at such a low price. Please share this info with your family, friends, neighbors.
 
Shepherd’s Table Community Kitchen
On the third and fourth Tuesdays, The Shepherd’s Table community kitchen serves meals at First Presbyterian Church located at 19835 E. Main Street, Huntingdon, Tenn. Meals are served restaurant style with drive through available from after 6 p.m. It is open to the public and there is no cost. Donations are accepted. All are invited.
Food scarcity is real in this area and the Shepherd’s Table’s success is dependent on the support of volunteers and donations. The meals are prepared by volunteer staff hosted by different congregations in our town and donated by local businesses. The community kitchen was created by a group of volunteers, who saw the need in the Carroll County community. They need volunteers. Carroll County  Senior Choir
The Senior Choir is seeking new members who enjoy singing. The choir sings on Mondays at one of the retirement homes in the county. For more information, phone 731-986-1985.
 
McKenzie City Council Meets Monthly
The McKenzie City Council meets at 6 p.m. the second Thursday of each month. 
 
COVID Testing Kits
Carroll County Health Department offers take-home COVID testing kits for free.
 
Prayer on the Square
The Prayer on the Square is held the second Saturday each month, 9 a.m. at The Network on the Court Square in Huntingdon. All denominations are welcome.
 
Adult Education Classes
Huntingdon Location - Adult Education Building, 14155 Paris Street. Office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Classes are offered for one-on-one instruction on Mondays, 1 to 4 p.m. and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to noon. For more information, phone 731-364-5481.
 
McKenzie High Homecoming Parade
McKenzie High School Homecoming Parade is Friday, September 2, 12:30 p.m. It starts at City Florist in downtown, go past McKenzie Middle School and McKenzie Elementary and end at Rebel Stadium. Retired educator and coach Randy Thomas is the grand marshal.
 
McKenzie VFW to Host Chicken Dinner
McKenzie Veterans of Foreign Wars is hosting a chicken dinner on September 9, 4 p.m. -? at the Post on Cherrywood Road. Plates are $10 and include baked beans, slaw, potato salad and desert.
 
McKenzie VFW Golf Tournament
