According to the report by Deputy Jason Walker, McCaslin’s mother said that her son snuck into her bedroom and took her car keys and a cell phone belonging to another person and then drove off in her 2012 Chevrolet Malibu without her permission. McCaslin brought the car back that night, but his mother said she still wanted to press charges.

Vandalism — Deputy Christopher Adams took a report regarding an alleged act of vandalism at the Carroll County Airport on Nov. 4.

Adams reported that he spoke with Thomas Nichols, who maintains the weather monitoring system at the airport. Nichols said he was called in to check the system after it went offline on Oct. 16, and he found that four cables appeared to have been cut. The weather system equipment is kept in a fenced-in area with barbed wire at the top. Nichols told Adams that it appeared that whoever did this seemed to have knowledge of how the system works.
