License Violation — Brian Andrew Scott, 32, of 7312 Highway 104, Lavinia, was charged with driving on a revoked license (third offense) during a Feb. 12 traffic stop in Atwood.

Deputy Cody Coleman reported he pulled over a vehicle driven by Scott because the vehicle had no license plate. A computer check showed that Scott’s license was revoked for a prior DUI conviction.

Animal Cruelty — The Sheriff’s Department is investigating a possible case of animal cruelty.

According to the report by Deputy Scotty Davis, he responded to property on Maytown Road near Huntingdon after receiving a call about a dead horse on the property. Upon arrival, Davis observed three living horses in a dirt lot, two of which appeared to be severely emaciated while the other looked moderately underweight. Scott also observed the dead horse, which appeared to have died of starvation. The deputy took photos of all the horses and showed those to a local veterinarian, and a formal complaint was registered to the Tennessee Department of Agriculture. No charges had yet been filed against the suspected owner of the horses at the time of the report.

License Violation — Charlie A. Davis, Jr., 26, of 3600 Highway 79, Trezevant, was charged with driving on a suspended license (fourth offense) during a Feb. 11 traffic stop in Atwood.

Deputy Cody Coleman reported that he pulled over a white truck driven by Davis due to a display of plate violation. A computer check showed that Davis’ license was suspended with three prior offenses.

License Violation — Jeremy Goode, 32, of 350 Bryant Street Extended, Trezevant, was cited for driving on a suspended license (first offense) during a Feb. 4 traffic stop in Trezevant.

Deputy Chance Townes reported he pulled over a white Cadillac driven by Goode for speeding. A computer check showed Goode’s license was suspended for failure to pay fines in Trezevant City Court.

Warrant, License Violation — Joseph Matthew Sellers, 30, of 191 Eli Brown Road, McKenzie, was cited for driving on a suspended license, and Christopher Fredrick (age and address not provided) was cited for an outstanding warrant during a Feb. 11 traffic stop on Renfroe Road near Huntingdon.

Deputy Chance Townes reported he pulled over a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Sellers with Fredrick as a passenger because he suspected a female subject with an outstanding warrant might be in the vehicle. The subject Townes was looking for was not in the vehicle, but the deputy did find that Fredrick had an active warrant out of Carroll County. A computer check showed Sellers’ license was suspended.

Public Intoxication — Brian Anthony Jackson, 41, of 53 Ross Drive, Huntingdon, was charged with public intoxication on Feb. 13 at an Atwood residence.

According to the report by Deputy Chance Townes, deputies responded to a call about a disorderly person at a Main Street residence. Upon arrival, deputies found Jackson sweating and chewing on paper. Jackson, who appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic, would not follow simple commands from deputies or EMTs on the scene. Jackson was transported to the Carroll County Jail.

Switched Plates — Deputies are looking into the recent theft of a license plate in Trezevant.

According to the report by Deputy Michael Mulligan, he responded to a residence on Republican Grove Road and spoke with Phillip Colwell, who said that sometime during the previous night, someone stole the license plate off his 2013 Dodge Ram and left another plate in its place. Mulligan did a check on the strange plate and found that it was an expired tag belonging to a Tennessee Ridge resident.
