The Carroll County Health Department is extending COVID-19 vaccine hours beginning Monday, March 22, 2021. The local Health Department administered vaccines are offered by appointment only. Extended hours are on Tuesday 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday mornings, 7 to 8 a.m. at the Carroll County Health Department located at 633 High Street, Huntingdon. Governor Lee announced Monday that all Tennessee adults will be eligible for COVID-19 vaccination effective April 5. Tennesseans aged 55 and older and those in Phase 2 of the state’s COVID-19 Vaccination Plan are eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations beginning Mar. 22.
Tennessee continues to see increasing supplies of COVID-19 vaccines, which allows the state to rapidly accelerate eligibility to receive the vaccination. TDH requests every dose of COVID-19 vaccine made available to the state:
2.9 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been delivered to Tennessee providers to date.
The state is expecting approximately 163,000 vaccine doses the week of March 22.
The state anticipates receiving increased allocations of Johnson and Johnson vaccine week of March 29, which could increase weekly supplies by 30 percent.
Additionally, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County, Phipps Pharmacy in McKenzie and Huntingdon, and Wal-Mart Huntingdon are offering the vaccine. Phipps Pharmacy in Jackson is offering the one-dose J&J Vaccine by appointment only.
