Posted
McKENZIE (January 12) — Katie Chesser, a three-sport athlete at McKenzie, plans to continue her athletic career at Dyersburg State Community College. She committed to play softball on Thursday, January 12 as her family, fellow players, and fans looked on.

Dyersburg State softball coach George White said Katie will fit well into the program. He said she is impressed with the way she carries herself and her lateral movements as an infielder.  She has good power and will do well with the collegiate elite program.

McKenzie Principal Kelly Spivey told those gathered for the celebration that Katie has done the work both in the classroom and on the field.

Katie said she is happy with her decision to play at Dyersburg State after looking at many choices, some out of state.

The signing event was complete with photos of Katie and her family, softball, soccer, and basketball team mates in separate photographs.
