HUNTINGDON (February 11) — Phipps Pharmacy, Huntingdon began giving COVID-19 vaccines on Thursday, February 11 by appointment. Appointments can be scheduled at www.phippspharmacy.com. All of the documentation required for the COVID-19 can be completed online to streamline the process. Those without Internet services can call Phipps Pharmacy Huntingdon at 731-535-3522.
The Tennessee COVID-19 Vaccination Plan laid out by the Tennessee Department of Health will be followed for residents in eligible phases. Currently, the State has allocated vaccines for residents aged 70 and older as well as teachers, school staff and child care workers. Residents who were identified in previous phases are also eligible at this time. The Tennessee Department of Health is expanding access to COVID -19 vaccinations with a particular focus on rural areas.
Dr. Jay Phipps stated, “Phipps Pharmacy is excited to support the valiant efforts of our local health department as the first pharmacy in Carroll County to provide COVID-19 vaccines. We feel very privileged to have been chosen by the Tennessee Department of Health to help with getting these essential vaccines to our community.”
All vaccinations will be given at no charge to the recipient regardless of their insurance coverage. Patients with prescription or medical insurance will bring copies of ALL insurance cards to their appointment. The supply provided by the Tennessee Department of Health is very limited and all the vaccines are expected to go quickly. When the appointments are full, patients are encouraged to sign up on phippspharmacy.com to receive a notification when more COVID-19 Vaccine is available.
