McKENZIE — A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Dean Emmett Robb is Tuesday, August 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic church in Paris, Tenn. A Rosary service is Monday, August 9, 2021 at 7 p.m. at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday, 3: 00 pm. until 7:00 p.m.
Mr. Robb, 84, died Thursday, August 5, 2021 after a short illness. He was born in West Middlesex, Pennsylvania, October 15, 1936, to Roy and Bernice Robb. He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Delmar Robb, Shirley Robb Aber, and Joyce Robb Willaman.

He attended and graduated from Fenn College and Youngstown state University with a degree in Engineering/ Business Management and in 1957 began his career with Truscon Steel, Republic Steel, LTV and Republic Builders Products/ DESCO in Cleveland and Youngstown, Ohio and McKenzie as an industrial engineer, retiring in 2002 after forty-five years.

In 1957, Dean married Nancy “Gail’ Davis in Cleveland, Ohio. They would have been married 64 years this September 28. They have four children, Greg (Stephenie) Robb of Martin, Tenn., Brian Robb of Springville, Tenn., Kurt of McKenzie, Tenn.. and Jill (Gary) Keeps of Petersburg, Indiana., God blessed Dean with eight grandchildren: Shaylon Freeman, Blake Robb, Nicholas Robb, Lauren Robb, Kyle Keepes, Aaron Keepes, Jackson Keepes, Audrey Keepes and three great-grandchildren Lawrence, Thomas and Eliza Freeman. Dean also enjoyed all his siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews. He spoke of them often and had many enjoyable times and memories with all of them. He shared a love of genealogy with them and spent his free time researching his family tree.

While in Youngstown, Dean was a member of Saint Christine Catholic church. He enjoyed his time as a member of the GK Chesterton Society of Youngstown. Dean was also very active in the Boy Scouts, in which he shared many memories with his 3 sons.

In 1975, Dean relocated his family, along with 10 other Ohio families, with Republic Builders Products to initiate plant build out and manufacturing of steel doors and frames in McKenzie and Dyersburg, TN areas. In those ensuing 46 years, Dean developed lifelong friendships and business associations within the community, for which, he considered his extended family and these friends were always welcome at N. Stonewall Street for a multitude of family and holiday gatherings over the years.

Dean enjoyed following the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns, he enjoyed a multitude of professional sporting events with his children and the most memorable was the on-field NFL experience in 2008 with former Browns players and coaches, when the Browns visited the Titans in Nashville with his grown children in attendance. He was an avid PGA Golf Fan, attending several Masters Golf Tournaments in Augusta, Ga and the very first Tour of Championship in East Lake, GA. Dean and is wife Gail volunteered at a variety of LGPA Golf Tournaments, most notably and favorite, Vince Gill and Amy Grant’s “The Vinny”, with their son Brian. Dean had been an active member of the McKenzie Planning commission since 2003, and Chairman/ Board member since 2009. He retired from all positions in 2019 with 15 ½ years of service to his community. Dean took great pride in serving his city.

He has been an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Paris, TN since the family’s arrival in 1975. He was active in the Parish’s Knights of Columbus Chapter, achieving Fourth Degree rank. The Fourth Degree is the highest and most prestigious degree within the Knights of Columbus. It is a group of outstanding Sir Knights who are dedicated to the service of their church, their country and the Order.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Holy Cross Catholic Church and or the Knights of Columbus Order. The Family also encourages donations to a charity of your choice in his memory should you wish.
