County Democratic Party Holds Picnic in the Park

HUNTINGDON (June 26) — The Carroll County Democratic Party hosted a picnic at the Carroll County Sesquicentennial Park in Huntingdon on Saturday with food and entertainment.


Several local and regional members of the party attended including: Don Farmer and Callye J. Moran, Tennessee Democratic Party (TNDP) representatives for district 24; Jimmie Sue Staten, Carroll County chairwoman; Gary Wygant, Gibson County chairperson; Natalie M. Porter, Carroll County Register of Deeds; Ginger House, West Tennessee Vice President of the Tennessee Federation of Democratic Women; Debbie Swacker, Madison County Democratic Women; Neal D. Williamson, national president of the Webb Alumni Association; Jerry Slaton, Obion County chairperson; Caroline Ideus, Weakley County chairwoman; Deane Arganbright, former Weakley County chairperson; Gus Radford, former District Attorney; and others.


The event started at 5 p.m. with live music by Bob Hays and friends while picnic-goers enjoyed hot dogs, drinks, chips and desserts.


Featured speaker TNDP Chairman Hendrell Remus presented a message of unity, encouraging attendees to organize and recruit new members. Former District Attorney Gus Radford delivered a powerful message concerning the need to protect democracy and the right to vote.
