FCE Club Makes Donation

Posted

The Family and Community Education Clubs, of which there are two in Carroll County, is a national service organization; FCE for the shortened version. As a service to our community we see a need and try to help. The Bethel/Eastside FCE decided as one of their projects to donate hats to the Pre-k and Head start programs. This year the club donated to the Clarksburg, West Carroll and Huntingdon Pre-K and Head Start.

Mrs. Pennye Mays made 155 hats to be donated. She made 75 hats for boys and 80 hats for girls. These hats were knitted on a loom taking approximately 2 hours per hat. Next year will be Bruceton and McKenzie’s turn to receive hats. This lady needs to be commended for putting in over 310 hours of work and the cost of the yarn.
