Carroll County has a new  General Sessions judge. Michael King defeated Larry Logan for the seat. Logan has served 41 years.
 
Brock Martin, a political newcomer, is the Republican nominee to serve as the state representative for District 79 defeating Gordon Wildridge. The district includes part of Gibson, Carroll, and Henderson counties. Martin is a chiropractor in Huntingdon and a graduate of Bethel University. He faces Thomas Jefferson, the Democrat nominee in November.
 
There are 11 new county commissioners of the 21-member body.  Ten did not seek re-election.
 
County Mayor Joseph Butler, County Clerk Darlene Kirk, County Trustee Paula Bolen, Property Assessor Rita Jones, Circuit Court Clerk Sarah Bradberry, Sheriff Andy Dickson, and Register of Deeds Natalie Porter all won re-election. 
 
The lone municipal election in Carroll County was Clarksburg. The city of McKenzie and others will hold elections on November 8, 2022.
