LAVINIA - Funeral service for Gary Earl Jarrett, 87 of Lavinia, are Sunday, November 28, 2021 at 3:30 p.m. at the Lavinia Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Lavinia Cemetery. Visitation with the family is Sunday, 1:30 – 3:30 at the church.
He was born in Cedar Grove on May 22, 1934 to Valcar E. and Josephine Lewis Jarrett. Earl spent most of his adult life working and making a career in the military. He retired from the Tennessee National Guard after 40-plus years of service.
He is survived by two sons, Gary Lynn Jarrett (Patti) of Milltown, Indiana and Jerry Jarrett of McKenzie, two step-children, Stephen Hughes (Noel) of Milan and Melinda Simons (David) of Milan, a daughter-in-law, Michele Jarrett of McKenzie, fifteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-grandson arriving soon. Besides his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Jarrett, a son, David Jarrett, a step-son, Scott Hughes and a sister, Mary Dubsky.
