Ms. Grace Lewis McCain Wonderly, 84, of Springville, Tennessee died Monday, March 25, 2024 at her residence. Her funeral service are 12 p.m., Saturday, March 30, 2024 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Robert McBroom and Bro. Randall Stoner officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow the service in Tumbling Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Weakley County.
Grace McCain Wonderly was born June 29, 1939 in Huntingdon, Tennessee to the late Homer Lewis and the late Mattie Ross Lewis. Grace married Bobby Dell McCain in 1958 and preceded her in death in 1989. She married Leo E. Wonderly, Jr. on September 19, 1993 and he preceded her in death June 6, 2018.
Ms. Wonderly is survived by her son, Bill (Nancy) McCain of Springville; grandchildren, Chris McCain of Jackson, Kelsey (Luke) Amos of Dallas, Texas, Tom Aplin of Clarksville, Tennessee, David (Brandy) Aplin of Memphis, and Brandon Williams of Poplarville, Mississippi; seven great-grandchildren; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Besides her parents and husbands, Grace is also preceded in death by her brothers, Leon, Mitchell, William and Roy Lewis.
Ms. Wonderly was a retired schoolteacher with the Henry County School System for 30 years. She was a member of the Paris - Henry County Retired Teachers Association, the TEA and the NEA. She was also a member of the Point Pleasant Baptist Church. Grace enjoyed lake living and water recreational activities along with spending time with her family and most especially her grandchildren.
