HCMC Observes Rising COVID Cases

PARIS (December 29) — Henry County Medical Center reported being in a red state of transmission regarding the COVID-19 virus. Areas are labeled red if they have more than a ten percent positive test conversion rate. On December 29, Henry County Medical Center was at 15.38 percent positivity.

The hospital saw volume increases within the Emergency Department over the past week. More than ten percent of patients admitted to the Emergency Department present respiratory symptoms.

Of the six COVID-19 patients hospitalized, none of them are fully vaccinated. ER visits on Wednesday totaled to 48, with nine patients testing positive for COVID-19.

48.88 percent of Henry County residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Currently, Henry County has 118 positive cases. Weakley County’s positive results have risen to 128, and Carroll County has 111 positive cases.

Henry County Medical Center and Plumley Rehab report 12,446 tests completed. The testing rate in Henry County has more than doubled within two weeks.
