County Health Department to Offer Telehealth

HUNTINGDON (February 18) — Telehealth appointments are now available at the Carroll County Health Department and other local health departments in Tennessee. Appointments are quick and convenient. These appointments can often be same day allowing the patient to see the provider from the comfort of home.

Telehealth visits will be with a nurse practitioner or physician. The patient meets with the provider over a website and receive a link that allows you to register for an appointment through a video call.

Tips for a Successful Telehealth Appointment

  • Use a smartphone or a computer with a camera.
  • Test equipment before telehealth visit.
  • Pick a location with reliable Wi-Fi, privacy and good lighting.
  • Don’t drive during a telehealth visit.
  • Sign on early.
  • Make a list. Before the visit, write down things you want to ask your provider.
