Huntingdon Industrial Development Board Receives $175,000 Grant

The Delta Regional Authority announced the Huntingdon Industrial Development Board will receive a grant of $175,000 to construct two stormwater basins to accommodate additional roadwork and parking at the new Hydro-Gear factory at the Huntingdon Industrial Park South. Hydro-Gear is investing an additional capital investment of $7 million.

Hydro-Gear came to Huntingdon in 2021 initially investing $10 million and created 375 jobs for the local area. They manufacture power equipment drive systems.

The Delta Regional Authority is a federal-state partnership created by Congress in 2000 to promote and encourage economic development of the lower Mississippi River Delta Region and Alabama Black Belt. DRA invests in projects supporting transportation infrastructure, basic public infrastructure, workforce training and business development.
