Meth — Robert J. McClerkin, 56, of Huntingdon was charged with drug possession during a Nov. 2 traffic stop in Huntingdon.

Officer Joseph Hedge reported he pulled over a vehicle driven by McClerkin after clocking the vehicle at 49 mph in a 30 mph zone. Hedge detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and a search was conducted after a K-9 dog indicated the presence of illegal substances. During that search, McClerkin was found to be in possession of 2.2 grams of a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

Theft, Drugs — Jonathan L. Shealy, 41, of Gaston, South Carolina, was charged with theft of merchandise under $1,000, simple possession/casual exchange, and unlawful drug paraphernalia on Oct. 29.

According to the report by Officer Joseph Hedge, he was in Walmart in Huntingdon when he saw Shealy, and because he thought Shealy might have warrants out against him, Hedge approached him to speak to him. Hedge observed Shealy toss a box cutter under a shelf and noticed that he had a bulge under his clothing. Hedge patted Shealy down and found that Shealy had items, including a headlamp, a ball cap, and shirts, concealed on his person. A search of Shealy’s vehicle revealed a set of digital scales, and after getting permission from a resident to search a home on McCall Street where Shealy has been staying, officers found three pills identified as Xanax, about seven grams of marijuana, and another set of digital scales. Shealy told officers that all these items belonged to him.

Domestic Assault — Ausie William Welch, 48, of Huntingdon was charged with domestic assault following a Nov. 5 incident at a Huntingdon resident.

According to the report by Officer James Kelley, officers responded to a domestic call at a residence on McKendree Lane. Officers determined Welch had allegedly hit his father in the face, threatened to kill him with a crossbow, and hit him in the back with a pumpkin. Welch also allegedly made several verbal threats to kill his father and threatened to burn the house down when he got out of jail.
