Attempted Burglary — The HPD is investigating a recent attempted break-in at Huntingdon City Hall.

According to the report by Officer James Kelley, officers responded to a burglar alarm at city hall on June 9. Upon arrival, Kelley observed a white male running across the back of the parking lot toward the maintenance building. The suspect ducked behind the maintenance building and may have jumped over a fence into a residential backyard on Ivy Lane. Officers searched the area but could not find the suspect. Pry marks were found on two doors at city hall.

Drugs, License Violation — Zachary L. Jamison, 31, of Huntingdon was charged with simple possession of schedule VI, driving on a suspended license, and violation of child restraint law during a June 9 traffic stop in Huntingdon.

Officer Michael Verner reported he pulled over a vehicle driven by Jamison because he had prior knowledge that Jamison’s license was suspended. While speaking with Jamison, Verner detected the odor of marijuana, and when Verner asked Jamison to open his mouth, Jamison gave the officer a bag containing about a gram of marijuana that he had in his mouth. Verner also noted that there were three small children in the back seat who were not secured in car seats.

Harassment, Extortion — Guy S. Roberts, 55, of Huntingdon was charged with harassment and extortion on June 2.

According to the report by Officer Labe Ezell, Roberts allegedly sent emails threatening physical harm to his ex-wife’s attorney and sent images indicating that he was going to burn down his ex-wife’s house if she did not give him half of the house’s value. On June 3, Ezell observed Roberts driving near Sunny Slope Hill and placed him under arrest without incident.

Public Intoxication — Beau Garner Daghl, 18, (address not provided) was charged with public intoxication on June 7 in Huntingdon.

Officer Labe Ezell reported that he responded to a call regarding Daghl making lewd comments to a couple of women behind Huntingdon Church of Christ on West Main Street. Ezell made contact with Daghl, who was speaking in an erratic manner, making absurd statements, and told Ezell that his name was “Beautiful Oil Peely.” Ezell identified Daghl through the Madison County Sheriff’s Department and was informed that Daghl was arrested in Madison County for similar behavior a couple of weeks ago.

Drug Possession — Brittany Jeanette Roberson, 34, was arrested for drug possession and drug paraphernalia charges on June 2 in Huntingdon.

Officer Joseph Hedge reported that Roberson was found to be in possession of approximately one gram of methamphetamine, half a pill Roberson said was laced with Fentanyl, a meth pipe, and a cut piece of straw with drug residue after she gave Hedge permission to search her vehicle in the Walmart parking lot.
