ATWOOD (April 1) — The West Carroll High School Lady War Eagles hosted McKenzie Thursday for a district softball contest. The Lady Rebels scored in every inning while shutting out West Carroll for a 17-0 win in five innings.

Lady Rebels Shut Out Lady War Eagles

ATWOOD (April 1) — The West Carroll High School Lady War Eagles hosted McKenzie Thursday for a district softball contest. The Lady Rebels scored in every inning while shutting out West Carroll for a 17-0 win in five innings.

McKenzie scored a run in the top of the first frame, five each in the second and third, two in the fourth and four in the fifth.

Lady Rebel Katie Chesser went 4-for-5 with two doubles, three RBIs and three runs scored. Kristin Bradberry was 3-for-3 with three runs scored. Nicole Gibson went 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored. Kassidy Brown was 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored. Savannah Davis went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, two RBIs and a run scored. Jaden Barton was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Anna Robinson went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, two RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base. Payton Ognibene was 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base. Belle O’Brien went 1-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Lady War Eagle Claire Browning went 2-for-2 with a stolen base. Kelsey Holmes was 1-for-2.

Payton Ognibene earned the complete-game shutout win for McKenzie, allowing three hits while striking out seven and walking one in five innings.

Kaylee Butler took the loss for West Carroll, allowing 13 runs (seven earned) on eleven hits while striking out one and walking three in four innings. Autumn Houston threw the final frame, allowing four unearned runs on four hits while striking out two and walking none.
