Lady Tigers Top Lady Bulldogs, 8-2

GLEASON (April 9) — The Gleason Lady Bulldogs hosted Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central Friday for a non-district softball contest and were defeated, 8-2.
The visiting Lady Tigers struck first with a run in each of the first two frames and added three more in each of the fifth and seventh innings. The Lady Bulldogs got on the board late with a pair in the bottom of the seventh.
Central’s Mykenzie Burton went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Kaidyn Williams was 3-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base. Olivia Newberry went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Anna Kee was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Keely Williams went 1-for-4 with a run scored and two stolen bases. McKinley Garrison was 1-for-4 with a run scored. Nevaeh Davis went 1-for-5 with a run scored.

Gleason’s Cory Burke went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Caitlin Cook was 1-for-3 with a run scored. Keely Spain and Kennedy Reagan were each 1-for-3. Claudia Pineda went 1-for-4 with a stolen base.
Carlee Hicks earned the complete-game win for Central, allowing two unearned runs on five hits while striking out a dozen and walking one.
Cory Burke took the complete-game loss for Gleason, allowing eight runs (three earned) on 12 hits while striking out five and walking one.
