Lady Wildcats Sign Two-Time TSSAA Miss Basketball Finalist

Posted
DYER — After signing a TSSAA Miss Basketball Finalist several days ago, Coach Chris Nelson did it again. Tuesday, the Cats added another star with the signing of a two-time TSSAA Miss Basketball Finalist in Gibson County’s Madison Hart.

Madison is the daughter of Andy and Christy Dye of Yorkville, Tennessee and will major in Nursing.

Hart finished her Gibson County career as the program’s fourth all-time leading scorer with 2, 220 career points. She averaged 18.6 points and over seven rebounds per game her senior year. Madison shot 66 percent from the field and 84 percent from the foul line.

Hart led the Lady Pioneers to the TSSAA State Quarterfinals this past season with a mark of 29-6. GC won the state title her freshman year. Gibson County appeared in the state tournament each of her four years as a Pioneer.

Coach Chris Nelson was excited with the signing. “We are ecstatic to land a player of Madison’s caliber. Madison has been on our radar ever since her middle school days. Her basketball numbers speak for themselves, but we also know how consistent she is as a person as well. She fits one of our huge recruiting needs and we are excited to have her in purple the next four years.”
