McKENZIE, Tenn. - A Celebration of Life for Lorenzo Michael Townes is Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Long Heights Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 29, 2021 at 4 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

We will go in a funeral procession to the church so please make sure your cars and trucks are detailed because you know Lorenzo wouldn’t want a dirty car in his procession.

Interment will follow the service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Pastor Christopher Johnson will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers are: Isaiah Townes, Chris Gibbs, Kelvin Scott, Tyree Owens, Breshaun Oglesby and Julius Owens. Honorary pallbearers are: Darrius Tharpe, Montryll Robinson, Keenon Taylor, Edward Dudley and Adam Fisher.

Mr. Townes, 24, died Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at his residence. He was born in McKenzie on November 12, 1996 to Michael and Yana Townes Taylor.

He was a graduate of McKenzie High School class 2015, an LPN, a member and deacon at Greater Enon Missionary Baptist Church, and he was a referral and marketing coordinator at Carey Counseling.

He is survived by his wife, Ashley Hillsman Townes, his parents, Mike and Yana Taylor, brother, Carlton Townes, maternal grandmother, Carol Townes, paternal grandparents Billy Ray and Linda Kay Taylor, maternal great-grandmother Marsha “MeMe” Townes, paternal great-grandmother Virgie Mitchell, father and mother-in-law, Terrell and Michelle Hillsman, grandmother, Lorice Hillsman and brother-in-law, Keegan Hillsman.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Thomas Manuel, great-grandfather, U.L. Townes and paternal great-grandfather, Bo Taylor.
