Martha Taylor Obituary

Mrs. Martha Taylor, 74, died peacefully at her home on Friday, November 1, 2024.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2024, in the Chapel of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Brother Scott Carter will officiate.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 4, at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Tuesday, 9 a.m. until time of services at 11.

Mrs. Taylor was born July 17, 1950 to the late Gailford and Brooxie Bennett of Huntingdon, Tenn.  She was a graduate of Huntingdon High School.  She was a member of Huntingdon First United Methodist Church. Martha was a business lady who helped establish Taylor Real Estate in the mid-1970s along with her late husband, Lynn Taylor.  She also contributed 42 years to the community, working for the Town of Huntingdon in various roles and the last 22 years as Town Recorder.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Taylor.

Martha Taylor is survived by her three children, Chad (Laura) Taylor of Huntingdon, Tenn., Vicki (Lane) Williams of Huntingdon, Jennie (Trevor) Smith of Huntingdon.  She has five siblings, Weldon (Carol) Bennett of Huntingdon,  Carole (Bobby) Caylor of Huntingdon, Diane (Mark) Ward of Lexington,  Burton (Sharon) Bennett of Huntingdon, Rhnea (Preston) Hall of Huntingdon.  She was a loving and proud grandmother of seven grandchildren: Remington Taylor, Lillian Taylor, Kaylee Taylor, Taylor (Micah) McCarty, Ava Williams, Beau Smith, and Emma Smith.
