Brock Martin Named Chiropractor of the Year

Posted
NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Chiropractic Association (TCA) presented Dr. Brock Martin of Huntingdon with their esteemed Chiropractor of the Year award for his significant achievements and dedication to excellence.

“Dr. Martin has a strong history of leading by example and dedicating himself to making a positive impact,” said TCA Executive Director Tiffany Stevens. “The TCA is proud to recognize him for his exceptional leadership and outstanding commitment to not only his profession, but his patients and his community.”

Together, he and his wife, Dr. Krista Martin, own Southern Chiropractic and Acupuncture in Huntingdon, where they’ve provided patient-centered, evidence-based chiropractic care to their community for 10 years. He is a graduate of Camden High School, Bethel University and Logan College of Chiropractic and is also board certified in acupuncture, is a certified medical examiner and holds staff privileges at Henry County Medical Center. A two-time IRONMAN finisher and certified chiropractic sports physician, Dr. Martin enjoys caring for athletes at all levels and this past summer was selected team chiropractor for USA Triathlon for the World Championships. Dedicated to mentoring the next generation of chiropractors, he serves at Logan University as an adjunct professor.

He is an inspiring example within his community where he is highly active on several boards, including as treasurer of the Huntingdon Industrial Board and as a member of the Board of Trustees at Bethel University. He has been a member of numerous leadership programs including WestStar Leadership and was the first chiropractor to participate in the Delta Leadership Institute. He has been recognized by several distinct awards including “Under 40 Rising Stars of West Tenn.” by the Jackson Sun and “2016 Rising Chiropractor of the Year” by the TCA.

Dr. Martin is a proponent of association engagement and has served on the TCA Board for the past 8 years, first as District 7 director, then vice president, and as president since January 2020. His leadership was instrumental to the Association successfully navigating an ever-changing landscape for health care professions during that time.

Perhaps his strengths have been most impactful through his legislative outreach. Taking time to connect and build relationships with his legislators, he also hosts events to help engage his fellow colleagues in advocacy efforts.

His legislative involvement was recognized by the Tenn. Republican Party in 2021 when U.S. Congressman David Kustoff presented Dr. Martin with the prestigious District 8 Statesman of the Year Award, stating “Brock is a pillar of our business community. Without a doubt, Brock’s service to our community is a passion that he lives out each and every day.”

Aware that there has not been a chiropractor in Tennessee’s legislature since 1987, earlier this year, when a door opened, Dr. Martin chose to lead, once again, by example and run for state representative. Like he has done throughout his career, he dedicated 110% of himself, spending every ounce of energy to get out and meet the citizens of his district together with Dr. Krista, all while maintaining a thriving practice for their patients.

As an example for his patients, Dr. Martin stays healthy and active participating in triathlons and road races, as well as spending as much time as he can with Dr. Krista and their energetic 5 year old, Steele.

Dr. Martin was presented with the award at the Southern Chiropractic Conference hosted by TCA in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on August 20, 2022. This annual event welcomed over 600 participants and offered clinical education sessions on topics impacting chiropractic and health care in Tennessee.

The TCA, a professional organization composed of doctors of chiropractic since 1935, is a dynamic advocate for chiropractic physicians who contribute to the health and well-being of patients across Tennessee. For more information about the TCA, visit www.TNChiro.com.
