    TENNESSEE (October 28) — Average gasoline prices in Tennessee fell 0.9 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $2.75/g today, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 3,821 stations in Tennessee. Prices in Tennessee are 0.9 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 35.9 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has declined 2.6 cents in the last week and stands at $3.54 per gallon- the lowest level in over 1,100 days.

    McKENZIE (October 24) — The 11th annual Boo Bash in downtown McKenzie was the biggest ever, according to event sponsors, the City of McKenzie and Bethel University. An estimated 4,000 people attended the annual event that was scheduled for two hours but extended well beyond that time because of the larger than expected number of attendees.

    PULASKI (October 25) — On Friday, the McKenzie Rebels made the two-and-half-hour trek to Pulaski, Tennessee to take on the 3A Giles County Bobcats. Despite a slow first quarter, the Rebels picked up their ninth win of the season with the 47-14 victory.

    MEMPHIS (October 24) — The West Carroll War Eagles traveled Thursday to face KIPP Memphis Collegiate High School for a non-region football contest at Crump Stadium. The War Eagles pulled away in the second quarter and coasted to a 58-22 victory over the Phoenix.

    McKENZIE (October 21) — McKenzie Middle School hosted Bradford Monday for a pair of basketball contests. The Lady Red Devils pulled away in the second quarter to top the Lady Rebels, 42-15. The Rebels likewise made their mark in the second frame, outscoring the Red Devils 7-0 en route to a 38-15 victory.

Barker received a call to respond to Huntingdon Liquor in regard to a white male subject that got into an altercation with a customer in the store, and he stated, “I will kill you; I will kill you all.”

Pruneau died peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, October 22, 2024, with his daughter and family by his side. He is survived by his daughter Michelle (Rick) Doscher, grandsons Stephen (Jennifer) Pressley, Alex (Bryanna) Pressley, great-granddaughter Camille Pressley, and sister Donna L. Pruneau.
