McKenzie Chamber Plans First After-Hours Meet and Greet

McKENZIE (May 27) — McKenzie Chamber of Commerce and Industry plans its first after-hours meet and greet event for members. It is Tuesday, June 15, 5 to 7 p.m. at Overflow Church on Highland Drive.
The new Chamber’s board of directors decided to host meet and greet events each quarter, citing a request from members to network and to build connections. Bethel University plans to host Bethel Coffee, October 21, 8 a.m. as the second networking event.
Monica Heath, executive director, said the new Chamber now has 74 members. Recruitment of new members continues as the non-profit business association begins operations.

The Chamber Board of Directors consists of Myra Carlock, Ash Young, Jan Latimer, Victor Vela, Jay Phipps, Ashley Little, Ed Perkins, Marcy McKinney, Emily Young, Josh Crawford and Joel Washburn.
Director Heath said the Chamber’s website, www.growmckenzie.com, is now operational and each member can add information about their business or industry. It is a searchable database by visitors.
The Chamber plans to host an annual banquet, after-hours and breakfast events, lunch and learn programs, small business programs and celebrate Small Business Week and support the town events including Nights on Broadway, Sweet Tea and Southern Pickin’ Festival, Mistletoe Christmas, and Boo Festival.
Future plans include a Small Business Saturday event, Manufacturing Day, Teacher Appreciation Week, a College Leadership Program, a Shop Local Campaign, a meet-and-greet event for Bethel University students, and a Christmas Business Passport event.
