McKenzie High School Soccer Claims District Championship

McKENZIE (May 11, 2023) — McKenzie High School soccer team claimed the District 13-1A championship on Thursday in a home contest against Martin Westview. McKenzie defeated Westview 4-0.
McKenzie (9-2-2) next plays Memphis School of Excellence on Tuesday, May 16, at Bethel University-McKenzie.
In the championship game, Austin Cooper had two goals, Colt Norden had one, Camden Allison had one goal and two assists, and Stafford Roditis had one assist. Goalie Luis Tellez had four saves.

After the contest, six McKenzie players were honored as All-Tournament Team members, and seven were honored as All-District Team members.
All-Tournament was Guillermo Hickman, Colt Norden, Brice Becerra, Stafford Roditis (Tournament MVP), Austin Cooper, and Camden Allison.
All-District members are: Luis Tellez, Stafford Roditis, Rashad McCreary (Defense MVP), Jesse Calderon (Offense MVP), Maddox Martin, Camden Allison, Skyler Fornera. Coach Karlene Brown was honored as the District Coach of the Year.
In the semi-final district game on Tuesday, May 9, McKenzie posted their biggest margin of victory for the year over Gibson County. The final was 10-2. Camden Allison scored three goals, Jesse Calderon socred two and had three assists, Colt Norden scored one, Austin Cooper had one, Skyler Fornera had one goal and one assist, Ethan Batton had one, and Bryan Sneed-Soto had one. Goalie Luis Tellez had two saves.
