Simple Possession/Casual Exchange — According to a report from Sgt. Cody Coleman, he observed a blue Lincoln car traveling east on Cedar Street near the intersection with Main Street on New Year’s morning. The vehicle did not have any headlights or taillights activated and initiated a traffic stop on Cedar Street.
The driver, Delana Kerr, could not provide proof of financial responsibility for the vehicle. She gave permission for a search of the vehicle. The passenger, Clayton Milton, had a container of what was believed to be methamphetamine fall out of his pants leg leading to Milton being detained. The continued search revealed a used needle and syringe found in a cigarillo pack where Milton was sitting.
Kerr was cited for Violation of Financial Responsiblity Law and released while Milton was arrested and charged with Simple Possession of a Schedule II and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Criminal Trespass — Sgt. Trey Boucher located Maurice Lawrence inside a retail store on Thursday, December 30, he had been banned from and arrested him for Criminal Trespass. Lawrence was transported to Carroll County Jail.
Violent Felon In Custody of Dog — On Wednesday, December 29, Officer Trenton Ruddy was dispatched to Hometown Health Clinic where a juvenile female had come in with dog bites. The dog’s owner Miguel Mejias, of McKenzie, told officers his dog got out of his Walnut Circle residence and attacked the juvenile female.
Mejias was cited for Convicted Felon in Possession of a Dangerous Dog and Dog at Large.
Aggravated Assault — According to the report filed by Andy Weaver, Michael Chunn called in reporting he had been assaulted by Wilfredo Rivera and was also threatened with a knife on Wednesday, December 23. Chunn stated to Weaver that he was cleaning out his vehicle when Rivera came out of his house cursing Chunn and pulled a knife. The altercation turned physical and a scuffle ensued. Officer Weaver did notice signs of the scuffle on his face, head, and arms. Rivera was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and transported to the Carroll County Jail.
