DUI — Nicole Gwen Powers, 40, of Murray, Kentucky, was charged with DUI, Simple Possession and Speeding on November 10.
Officer Timothy Dillon stopped Powers’ vehicle for traveling 66 miles per hour in a 40 mph zone. He detected an odor of alcohol and asked Powers to perform a field sobriety test. The report indicates she did poorly on the test and was arrested for DUI. She admitted to smoking weed. A search of the vehicle netted marijuana in a plastic bag, THC gummies. Powers also did not have the required insurance to operate the vehicle. She was transported to Carroll County Jail.
Driving on Suspended License — Paxton Tyler Bullard, 24, Brandon, Miss., was charged with Driving on a Suspended License First Offense, Driving an Unregistered Vehicle (motorcycle), and Violation of Financial Responsibility on November 9.
Officer Timothy Dillon made a traffic stop after witnessing Bullard without a helmet while riding a motorcycle. The vehicle also did not have registration plates. Bullard could not produce the registration and insurance.
The motorcycle was towed from the scene and Bullard was cited into court.
Driving on Revoked, Speeding — Mathew Taylor Kochpeth, 26, Clarksville, was charged with Driving on a Revoked License and Speeding on November 6.
Officer Matthew Cunningham stopped Kochpeth’s vehicle for speeding and determined his license was revoked. He was cited into General Sessions Court.
Violation of Carolina Squat Law, Excessive Noise — Lamarion Mikell Turner, 19, Springville, was charged with Violation of the Carolina Squat Law, Excessive Noise and Speeding on November 7.
Officer Dustin McClure stopped Turner’s vehicle for speeding. The F150 pickup also violated the new squat law, in which the front bumper is higher than the rear, in this case, it was seven-plus inches higher. The exhaust system was too noisy and the window tint was too dark. Turner was cited into Carroll County General Sessions on charges of Excessive Noise, Carolina Squat, Window Tint, and Speeding.
Theft of Merchandise — Terin J. Harris, 42, Alabama Street, McKenzie, was charged with Theft of Merchandise on November 8.
Officer Dalton Raspberry responded to Dollar General, Highway 22, for a report of shoplifting. The store’s security cameras indicated Harris took a box of fake fingernails, removed the contents, and took the merchandise without paying. Officers went to Harris’ home and issued her a citation to appear in Henry County General Sessions Court. She was also banned from the store.
Dogs at Large — Terrie Funburg, 56, and Cinda Kay Hampton, 54, both of Walnut Avenue, McKenzie were charged with Allowing Dogs to Run at Large on November 7.
MPD Chief Ryan White observed two pit bulls in the parking lot of City Hall. The animal control officer was summoned. He recognized the dogs and knew where to find their owners. The dogs were transported to Walnut Avenue, where Funburg and Hampton each claimed ownership. Sergeant Cody Coleman issued citations for both to appear in General Sessions Court.
Fake Identification — Braden Canaan, 19, Clarksville was charged with Using Fake Identification in an unsuccessful attempt to purchase tobacco products at a convenience store.
Officer Matthew Cunninham was dispatched to the store where the clerk gave a description of the car. Cunningham spotted the car, initiated a stop and then questioned the driver. The passenger, Canaan, confessed he had a fake Kentucky driver’s license he obtained off the internet. He was cited into General Sessions Court.
