Domestic Assault — Christopher L. Christman, 37, Magnolia Avenue, McKenzie, and Tabitha Christman, 41, Magnolia Avenue, McKenzie were both charged with domestic assault after an altercation at their home on December 26.
According to reporting officer Tanner Jackson, the two were in a verbal argument when she knocked his cap off his head and threw his cell phone to the ground and broke it. He reportedly pushed her against the wall and again outside to the ground.
Both were arrested and transported to Carroll County Jail.
Driving on Revoked License — Trinity Gordon Maynard, Oaklawn Drive, McKenzie was charged with driving on revoked license, expired registration and violation of financial responsibility on December 23.
Reporting officer Cody Coleman stopped Maynard’s vehicle after noticing the expired tags. A check of his license revealed the revoked status and she could not produce insurance information. Maynard was transported to Carroll County Jail.
Domestic Assault — Billy E. Borum, Allen Street, McKenzie was charged with domestic assault after an incident on December 21.
Reporting officer Tanner Jackson indicated a 911 call reported a domestic assault in progress at 44 N. Allen Street shortly after midnight. A witness signed a statement to the domestic assault and the victim had corresponding red marks consistent with the witness’ statement. Bill Borum had left the residence and was arrested at 12:45 a.m. and transported to Carroll County Jail.
Driving on Revoked License — William M. Blackard, 50, Rochelle Road, McKenzie, was charged with driving on a revoked license after a traffic stop on December 24.
Reporting officer Dalton Raspberry saw Blackard driving and knew the status of his license. Blackard was charged with driving on revoked -second offense. The vehicle was impounded and Blackard was held for Weakley County authorities, who had outstanding charges on him.
Drug Paraphernalia and Failure to Appear — Shane K. Westphal, 27, of 111 Highland Avenue, Martin, and Brandon P. Westphal, 36, Highway 45 of Martin, were both charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to appear after a 911 call from the Relax Inn in McKenzie.
Reporting officer Jeremiah Brooks stated a 911 call on December 24 came from a room at Relax Inn on Highland Drive. When officers Trenton Ruddy and Brooks responded, they found a guest room door ajar and announced they were police officers. They found two men in bed and a bong on a table. Shane and Brandon Westphal both denied ownership. A check of the identity of the two men indicated an active warrant in Weakley Count for Brandon Westphal and an active arrest warrant in Carroll County for Shane Westphal. Both were warrants for failure to appear. Eric Jimmerson, who the Westphals indicated as the owner of the bong, arrived at the scene and was cited for drug paraphernalia.
Driving on Suspended — Johnathan D. Choate, 38, Freemont Street, Dyer was charged with driving on a suspended license after a traffic stop on Christmas day.
Reporting officer Dalton Raspberry initiated the traffic stop because he knew the status of the driver’s license. Choate had four prior convictions on the same charge. Choate was transported to jail. The vehicle was released to a nephew.
