Domestic Assault — McKenzie Police responded to a Paris Street residence in reference to a 911 call early Thursday morning, February 24. Mr. Benjamin Elohim advised his wife was attempting to assault him during the course of an argument.

According to the report filed by Sgt. Trey Boucher, Elohim did have physical evidence of an assault and found that Mrs. Jill Elohim was the aggressor and placed her under arrest for Domestic Assault and transported her to Carroll County Jail.

Multiple Charges — Patrolman Tanner Jackson made a traffic stop Friday night, February 25, after observing a vehicle with expired license tags. Jackson learned through dispatch that the tags belonged to another vehicle and proceeded to make the stop.

The driver, Trinity Gordon Maynard, 46, of McKenzie, advised Officer Jackson that he did not have a driver’s license and the vehicle was not insured. Maynard was cited for Driving on a Suspended/Revoked license, Violation of Financial Responsibility, Misuse of Registration, and Driving an Unregistered Vehicle. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Criminal Trespass and Drug Possession — Carroll County 911 contacted McKenzie Police on Saturday evening, February 26 in reference to a 911 call from a local convenience store. Upon arriving, a cashier advised police that a customer had asked to use the phone and ended up standing in the store. Officer Trenton Ruddy identified him as Michael Gilbert, 38, of McKenzie. Officer Mark Boaz learned that Gilbert was banned from the store and initially arrested him for Criminal Trespass. A search of Gilbert revealed knives and a small bag of white powder believed to be Methamphetamine. He was additionally charged for Possession of a Schedule II Drug.
