McKenzie School Board to Induct New Member

McKENZIE — A new member of the McKenzie School Board will take the oath of office during the October 6 regular meeting. Monday, September 28, board members appointed George Cassidy to replace Norman French, who resigned his position on the board. The board meets at 5:30 p.m. at McKenzie Middle School Library.
In September, the board inducted three newly elected members - Chad Brown, Karen Fowler and Misty Aird, all elected during the August general election.
Also on the agenda is the granting of tenure to teachers who have completed five or more years of teaching and have received 4s and 5s on their summative evaluation scores the past two years.

The annual appointment of a Disciplinary Hearing Authority includes Nick Lowe, SRO, Tonya Brown, McKenzie Elementary Principal, Dorethea Royle, McKenzie Middle Principal, and Kelly Spivey, McKenzie High School Principal.
Budget amendments and approval of the annual Report of School System/School Compliance for 2020-21 are on the agenda.
The Board meets Tuesday, October 6, 5:30 p.m. at the McKenzie Middle School Library.
