Mustangs Top Rebels, 5-2

HUNTINGDON (March 28) — Huntingdon High School hosted McKenzie Friday as part of the Diamond Club Classic. Despite outhitting Huntingdon 10-1, the Rebels managed only a couple of late runs as the Mustangs won 5-2.

Huntingdon struck first with three runs in the bottom of the second inning and added a pair in the sixth. McKenzie plated two runs in the top of the seventh.

Mustang Caleb Ezell was 1-for-2 with a walk and two RBIs. Braylin Dearmon was 0-for-0 with three walks and a run scored. Hayes Eubanks went 0-for-1 with two walks and a run scored. Braylon Rich was 0-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.

Rebel Fletcher Holt hit 2-for-3 with a walk. Xander Johnsey was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Cole Brown went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Ace Brown batted 1-for-3 with a run scored. Tate Surber was 1-for-4. Maddox Shiell went 1-for-3. Cooper Davidson was 1-for-4.

Owen Kreuziger got the start for Huntingdon, allowing two earned runs on ten hits while striking out five and walking none in six innings of work. Braylin Dearmon threw the final inning, allowing no runs or hits while striking out one and walking one.

Tate Surber started for McKenzie, allowing three unearned runs on one hit while striking out eight and walking nine over five innings. Fletcher Holt pitched the final inning, allowing two runs (one earned) with no hits or walks and one strikeout.
