NASHVILLE (January 24) — One month into the new year, we’re still battling COVID-19. On Sunday, Tennessee reported 708,717 total COVID-19 cases, 8,859 deaths, 2,128 hospitalized and 654,335 inactive/recovered. Statewide, the percent positivity rate appears to be decreasing. On January 3, the state’s COVID-19 positivity rate was 21.41 percent; January 10, it was 16.31 percent; January 17, it was 13.10 percent; and January 24 it was 9.78 percent.
