Mrs. McCarty was born September 24, 1946 in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Dr. Robert Burton “R.B.” and Sara E. (McGill) Wilson. She was self-employed as a caterer and a member of the Huntingdon Church of Christ. She attended Freed Hardeman, David Lipscomb and the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Michael McCarty, one daughter, Hollins McCarty of Huntingdon, two sons, Seth McCarty (Christy) and James “Will” McCarty. She also leaves one grandson, Taylor McCarty. Chase Funeral Home.
